BPM Room — Bershka

Created with Bershka for the BERSHKA SERIES pop-up in Shoreditch, BPM Room is an interactive audiovisual installation that brings music, movement and self-expression into the world of retail.

BPM Room lets visitors set the pace, while the music, lighting and camera sequences follow their chosen rhythm, capturing a personalised music video to take home. At Bagel Affairs, we developed the system connecting the room’s physical dial, sound, lighting and cameras, working with the wider team to bring the experience together.

There’s something special about dancing and forgetting how you look. For BERSHKA SERIES, we wanted to bring that feeling into retail, giving visitors a little room to let go. BPM, beats per minute, became our starting point. Choosing a tempo would let people find an energy that suited them, from a slower funk to something harder to stand still to. We put the feeling and self-expression first. The video was second, capturing a memory of the session, while the experience itself gave Bershka’s connection to music and party culture a physical form people could step inside.

Sometimes you just need a good song, blasting speakers, and a bit of space.
